Most commissions I do are based on themes explored in previous paintings. I have also done commissions in the past based on concepts brought to me by clients. Flexibility is the biggest advantage of commissioning a painting. Size and color palette, along with other graphic elements, are discussed and decided on before the painting is started.

It should be understood that a commission is a unique piece all its own. It is not a duplication of another painting, even if the concept has been explored previously. This simply means that a commissioned painting will never look exactly like another painting, which is a good thing.

A commission usually can be delivered within a few weeks after the details are decided on. Paintings can be picked up from my studio in Brooklyn, NY or will be shipped via UPS or FedEx.

Payment for a commissioned piece is broken into two installments. The first installment (usually 50% of the total cost) is due before the painting begins, and the final payment is due upon delivery of the piece. If the painting is to be shipped, the shipping costs will be added to the final price of the piece. I can now accept credit cards for any portion of the price for an additional %1.5 fee.
